Wembley
& Crawley Mandirs Open 2 Temples, 1 Vision |
The month of May witnessed a historic occasion for Londons
Hindu community, the opening of two grand Sanatan Hindu
Mandirs, in Wembley and Crawley respectively. The opening
of the mandirs is the culmination of years of hard work,
devotion and faith on the part of countless volunteers and
devotees. Key ambassadors of both of the projects are prominent
Lohanas who have served the community tirelessly over the
years.
Shri
Vallabh Nidhis (Wembley Mandir) executive chairman
is Shri Narendrabhai Thakrar (North London), an LCUK
Trustee in 2009. LCUK trustee Shri Ajaybhai Jobanputra
(South London) is also a governor on the SVNUK Board.
One of the key ambassadors of the Crawley mandir is Shri
Piyooshbhai Chotai, President of Lohana Community
South London. |
Both
Mandirs been built using ancient techniques based on Hindu
scriptures, the Shipla Shastra. Many of the
temple's component pieces have been hand carved in limestone
in the tiny town of Sola - located in the Indian state of
Gujarat - before being flown over and pieced together in
the UK. Click here
