  LCUK launches on-line Contact Database System  
  The first ever LCUK online database system to hold contact details for Lohanas in the UK was launched on 1st November 2006. Each person registered on the UK Directory has been provided with an LCUK Reference No. and password in order to be able to access and check their details on-line. New entries can also be accepted online for those UK based Lohanas who have not registered.   LCUK Bhajan / Prarthna book  
  A prarthna book has been published and dispatched to all LCUK Lohana Mahajans across the United Kingdom. These books are to be used at the residence of a bereaved family for the period of approximately two weeks, after which they are to be returned to the respective Mahajan committee member.   Young Lohana Community East London Xmas Kids Party  
  YLCEL is hosting a special children's Xmas Party on Sunday 17th December 2006 at Ilford Sport Club Pavilion, 468 High Road in Seven Kings, Ilford.   31st Lohana Sports and Culture Festival - Nairobi, Kenya  
  Nairobi Lohana Youth League is hosting the 31st Lohana Sports & Cultural Festival in Nairobi during the 2006 Xmas break - Saturday 23rd December to Tuesday 26th December 2006. Teams are expected from Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Kampala, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu to participate along with the hosts, Nairobi. The festival includes various sports - badminton, cricket, volleyball, snooker, tennis, swimming, throwball, table tennis, marathon, darts.    Lohana Achievers  
     
  Atulbhai N Panchmatia of South London was recently elected as a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). Atulbhai graduated with a BSc in Chemical Engineering in 1978 from Imperial College London and has had a long and varied career working on the North Sea oil and gas platforms and in various companies in Qatar and Brunei. He was also involved in the rebuild of the Piper Alpha platform after the major disaster and is currently an HSSE Manager for BP. Congratulations to Atulbhai and his family on his achievement.  
     
  Aarti Chandarana from Nairobi has been selected to represent Kenya in Badminton. Her involvement in the national team will include travel to Algeria in the near future.  
     
  International Cricket Council (ICC) has appointed Kenya's umpire Subhash Modi to officiate the Triangular series between Holland-Canada-Bermuda in South Africa. Subhash Modi will officiate three one day international matches and one four day first class fixture.  
     
  Shri Rasiklal B Somani Foundation - Rasiklal (Bhikhubhai) has touched the lives of many during his existence on this earth (1935 to 2006). His donations have helped so many who desperately needed it. His treatments with natural therapy and reflexology has cured thousands. His love and care will leave lasting memories. It is planned to start a Charitable Foundation in memory of Sri Rasiklal Somani with the objective to carry out some of the good causes that he valued.
