  LCUK Election Results  
  LCUK Election Results - The annual LCUK Delegates Conference was hosted in Leicester on Sunday 30th July 2006. Congratulations to Kiritbhai Karia of North London - elected LCUK President, Pannaben Raja of North London - elected LCUK Secretary General and Subhashbhai Rajani of Birmingham - elected LCUK Treasurer. Details of the other Executive posts will be published when available after the first LCUK Central Council meeting.  
     
  Lohana Community South London Tirth Yatra To Wales  
  LCSL are organising a coach trip to leave from Thornton Heath on Saturday 2nd September with a stay overnight at a local Travel Lodge and a pooja the following morning at the Skanda Vale Temple in Wales.   RCT (North London) Sponsored Walk  
  Raghuvanshi Charitable Trust (RCT) North London is organising a Charity Walk in conjunction with LCNL on Sunday 10th September from 10:30am to 4:30pm - starting and finishing from the RCT Centre in Headstone Lane, Harrow. Various incentive prizes will be awarded and caps and T-shirts will be available for all walkers.   Unsure of which degree to do? Which A-levels to pick? Where to go to university? Or simply bored with your existing career and looking for a change? YLCSL is to host a Careers Fair in London in October 2006 - venue and date to be confirmed. A good opportunity for Lohana Youths to meet a variety of professionals who have chosen different career paths. Something for everyone.   Northamptonshire Mahila Mandal Rath Yatra & Loti Utsav  
  Lohana Mahajan Northamptonshire Mahila Mandal successfully hosted a Rath Yatra and Loti Utsav programme on Sunday 23rd July 2006 at the Hindu Temple in Wellingborough. This was a first Rath Yatra for the Mahila Mandal. The Yatra was followed by Bhajan Kirtans, Aarti and Maha prashad.  
     
  Lohana Samaj USA (New Jersey) Website  
  The Lohana Samaj in New Jersey, USA have their own website at www.LohanaSamajUSA.org - check it out. Their 15 plus strong Committee organises various events including a very recent successful Summer Picnic in August - the website has photos and more details.

  Ashokbhai Rabheru Received At Buckingham Palace  
  The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an afternoon party in July in the garden of Buckingham Palace. The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy were present. The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, received Mr Ashok Rabheru, Trustee of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, at Buckingham Palace. Our congratulations to Ashokbhai on this honour and for his active participation in the prestigious Award Scheme.  
     
  Dynamic Duo Organise Ram Katha  
  Congratulations to Pramodbhai Thakkar and Hasubhai Manek for very successfully hosting Shree Ram Katha to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Shree Jalaram Mandir Leicester. The Katha was recited by Param Pujya Shree Morari Bapu and was hosted at Soar Valley Community College, Rushymead in Leicester from 15th July to 23rd July 2006. The two gentlemen have found the time and had the commitment and dedication, despite having their own businesses to run, to organise this very special event for the Jalaram Mandir. VIP visitors at the Katha included Keith Vas MP and Amitabh Bachan bollywood superstar.  
     
  Jaymal Nathwani, Aged 16, Embarks On Expedition To Peru  
  Jaymal, son of Vijay and Bindu Nathwani is the youngest of the 40 young people selected to go on a month long expedition to Peru. The expedition entails a combination of backpacking and charity work and Jaymal hopes to take part in local refurbishing, environment projects and teaching English to young Peruvian children.

Three years ago Jaymal spent 3 weeks at University of Warwick studying a combination of Economics and Business subjects at under-graduate level and at 14, he was selected through the Centre for Talented Youth, to spend 3 weeks at Dickinson College in USA where he wrote a brief paper on dyslexia as part of his Psychology course. We wish Jaymal every success and our congratulations to proud parents Vijay and Bindu Nathwani.

 
     
  Jeet Savani - Face Of Asia 2006  
  Jeet Savani aged 16 was the runner up and youngest finalist for Face of Asia 2006. He is the Youth President for Northamptonshire Lohana Mahajan and now in Mumbai for media work experience and Hair, Skin, Fashion Model Assignement with Harish Bhatia of BigBoss Fame. Jeet was awared the Art of Threading, Mehndi and Body Art from Guiness Book Holder Harish Bhatia of BigBoss and a Diploma in Colorkeys by L'Oreal. Our congratulations to Jeet and we wish him continued success in his ventures.

  Shree Chunibhai Mohanlal Savani of Mombasa sadly passed away on 24th August. He was father to late Jitubhai Savani who passed away a few days before.  
   
  Shree Ramniklal Jamnadas Gandecha of Kisumu (Kenya), sadly passed away on 18th August at Leicester aged 69 years.
